Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interrelationships between economic sectors in Algeria, based on the tables of inputs and outputs for the year 2020, using the Leontief model, in order to determine the direct and indirect background links of the various economic sectors, and thus identify the leading sectors in the Algerian economy. The results of the study showed that The services and public works sector came at the forefront of the economic sectors in terms of its intertwining relationship and the value of its background attraction, reaching 1.90 for every dinar spent in this sectorThe results also show that the construction and public works sector came in second place, with a value of 1.24 . in its background attraction. The food industries are in the third place, and therefore these sectors are the most leading sectors in the Algerian economy. The study recommends directing government policies more towards supporting these sectors to stimulate economic growth, especially the services and public works sector, which, in addition to its strong interlinkages with the rest of the economic sectors, enjoys its great ability to create jobs
