Abstract

Summary This study aims to reveal the relationship between parental abuse and assertive behavior among a sample of fourth-average students, and the study relied on the descriptive correlative approach because it suits the nature of the study. The study was applied to (70) male and female students from "Shukmaghi Muhammad Al-Ashour" and "Fadil Iskandar" intermediate schools in the state of Medea. The study used two scales for Bando Safia (2017), a scale of parental abuse, a scale of affirmative behavior, and a personal data form. To verify the hypotheses of the study, the data were processed using the correlation coefficient (Pearson) and the coefficient (Inova) of differences. The results of the study were as follows: There is a correlation between parental abuse and assertive behavior. - There is no difference between the sexes in the level of assertive behavior. - There are no differences between parental abuse and assertive behavior due to age .
