Abstract
Study summary:
Our study represents one of the important issues, which is
psychological independence from parents and its relationship to
academic compatibility of the resident university student (18-21
years). This study also seeks to reveal the relationship between
psychological independence from parents and academic
compatibility, in addition to revealing the differences between the
sample individuals in Psychological independence and
academic compatibility according to the two sex variables. To
achieve this, a sample of students residing in university
neighborhoods for males and females (Al-Musalla, Al-Kawala)
was applied, as their number reached 100 students who were
deliberately chosen.
The descriptive analytical approach was used as it fits the
nature of the subject to be studied with reliance on the
psychological independence from parents scale "by Bouassar
Dalilah" and the study compatibility scale "by Abdel Rahim
Shaqoura" and the statistical treatment was done using the
statistical program spss, Pearson correlation coefficient, T-test
for differences (T.TesT).
The following results were reached:
•The existence of a correlation between psychological
independence from parents and academic compatibility among
the resident university student (18-21 years).
•There are no statistically significant differences in psychological
independence due to the gender variable among the resident
university student (18-21 years).
•There are statistically significant differences in the academic
compatibility due to the gender variable among the resident
university student (18-21 years).
