Abstract

Study summary: This study aimed to discover the meaning of life and its relationship to the motivation of academic achievement among a sample of university students, as it was a field study at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Yahya Fares University, specializing in counseling and guidance, and accordingly, this study dealt with two basic variables: the meaning of life and motivation Academic achievement. Where the sample consisted of (103) male and female students belonging to different educational levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s), it was chosen in a random and intentional manner, and based on this, two scales were applied to it: the scale of the meaning of life prepared by “Harun Tawfiq Al-Rashidi” and the scale of academic achievement motivation. by Abd al-Rahman ibn Barika (2007). In addition to using the Pearson correlation coefficient, Scheffe coefficient, one-way analysis of variance, and the t-test, the results of the study concluded that there is a correlation between the meaning of life and academic achievement motivation according to the gender variable of university students, while the results did not indicate that there are differences in motivation Academic achievement according to the level of specialization.
