Cluster states in bosonic systems : Preparation, entanglement, and quantum computation

Abstract

We study the generation and entanglement properties of non-Gaussian cluster states of bosonic systems. We consider arbitrary number of harmonic oscillators, and present a protocol to generate, in the long time limit, the target cluster state. Moreover, we show the non-classicality of the obtained states by means of the negativity of the corresponding Wigner function. Also we calculate the amount of entanglement present in the cluster state and discuss a very important use of these states in universal quantum computation.
