Abstract

This study aims to reveal the impact of the use of Facebook on the academic success of students of the University of Medea, through a theoretical part which included a detail of the nature of social networking sites, in particular Facebook, as well as as the concept of educational level, leading to the educational objectives of social networking sites in general and Facebook in particular, as well as an assessment of its use in the educational environment , as is the case in many developed countries. While the practical side included a questionnaire of 04 axes, the results of which concluded that: - All respondents use Facebook 100%, with a record 80.53% using it daily for over an hour; - 61.68% of respondents use Facebook to a great extent in the process of communication with friends and classmates, especially when carrying out research; - 69.20% of respondents believe that Facebook increases the level of studies in the major studied.
