Abstract: The dangers and environmental disasters have increased worldwide, prompting the international community to take action to address these disasters and attempt to reduce them. Algeria is among the countries that have strived to protect its environment from all risks. The Algerian legislator has paid significant attention to environmental protection, and this concern has not been limited to enacting legal texts alone but has also extended to assigning the executive authority with tasks of protecting the environment. The administrative bodies responsible for environmental protection in the national legislation are numerous, including both central and decentralized bodies. The legislator has assigned the Ministry of Environment specific tasks different from those assigned to the province, municipality, or independent bodies. This has been supported by a set of mechanisms that enable them to perform their duties, which include a range of preventive and deterrent administrative methods. Keywords: administrative bodies, environmental protection, province, municipality.
