Abstract

This study aims to understand the concept of foreign direct investment and trade openness and measure their impact on economic growth in Algeria, as well as their contribution to stimulating the national economy during the period (1990-2022). The study relies on the descriptive and analytical methods for the theoretical aspect, and the econometric method for the practical aspect by using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The estimation results indicate that there is a positive relationship and an affirmative impact of both foreign direct investment and trade openness on economic growth in Algeria in the long run.
