The Effect of Applying Analytical Procedures on Audit Quality: An Empirical Study

Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to examine the relationship between analytical procedures, audit quality, and assessing firms’ going concern. This paper used primary data collected through a questionnaire from 78 external auditors. The data were analyzed using regression performed in the statistical analysis software, SPSS 26.0. The results indicated that analytical procedures and audit quality positively affected the assessment of the firms’ going concern. The results also show that analytical procedures had a positive effect on audit quality. We hope that our results will make a significant contribution to the literature on audit by providing insights for auditors, audit clients, regulators, and researchers on the role of application of analytical procedures in assessing firms’ going concerns.
