VIDEO COMPRESSION: FROM MPEG-2 TO MPEG-4 AND BEYOND COMPARATIVES STUDIES

Abstract

This thesis explores the evolution of video compression techniques from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 and beyond, focusing on comparative studies between these standards. MATLAB was used in the practical aspect to analyze the performance and efficiency of these standards. The results showed significant improvements in image quality and data size reduction with the transition to newer standards.
