EVALUATION OF A POTENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF THE CREACTIVE PROTEIN TO ALBUMIN RATIO AS A BIOMARKER FOR PREDICTING INFLAMMATION PROGNOSIS IN BREAST CANCER

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common cause of mortality from malignant tumors in women, in 104 countries worldwide, this malignant tumor was detected in 2.3 million women (World Health Organization 2022). Causes are complicated and multiple that range from genetics to lifestyle, but factors like genes and lifestyle also matter (Boyle & Howell, 2010). Usually, prognostic biomarkers linked to inflammation are available from routine blood tests in many types of cancer, such as CRP or albumin levels, are used to establish the prognosis and assess the progression of the disease. The CRP/albumin ratio is a measure that combines two important indicators of inflammatory status. Currently, scores from this Ratio have been reported to correlate significantly with a variety of human cancers, including the C-reactive protein to albumin ratio (CAR).
