Abstract

Study summary: Our study, titled “The Role of Pedagogical Communication among the Algerian Student,” seeks to identify the implications of the educational image present in the reading book, and to trace the reception of this image by first-year primary school students, by asking the following main question: Does the picture in the reading book for the first year of primary school lead to effective pedagogical communication? To answer this main question and reach the results, we have identified some sub-questions explained as follows: 1- What is the position of the picture on the pages of the reading book for the first year of primary school? 2- What are the most prominent implications that were emphasized in the reading book for the first year of primary school? 3- Do the contents of the picture in the reading book for the first year of primary school match the contents of the texts in the text? Attention the student. 4- Does the image in the text attract the student’s attention? 5- How does a first-year primary school student interpret the pictures of the reading book? 6- Does the picture in the first year primary school textbook lead to the acquisition of the learning that must be acquired in the lesson? In order to address our problem, we relied on the descriptive approach as it is most appropriate for this study and in order to obtain in-depth and detailed information to analyze the studied phenomenon. We also relied on the semiological analysis tool to answer the first three questions, where we analyzed five pictures from the reading book for the primary year in order to find out the various semantic dimensions. The implicit meaning of these images, according to the approaches of Martin Joly and Roland Barthes, is to analyze the visual message. As for the last three questions, we answered them by studying the reception of first-year primary school students using the observation tool, where we used an observation network for a sample consisting of 30 students, in order to observe their reception of the pictures, how they interpreted them, and the learnings gained through the picture. Based on the information we obtained through study and analysis, it became clear to us that the picture in the reading book in a book for the first year of primary school leads to effective pedagogical communication, but not to the required degree, as these pictures must be placed in better programs. We proposed developing programs for teaching through play in order to develop the child’s mental and creative abilities. At this age.
