Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of some industrial institutions in the state of Medea through analyzing its overall performance components and means of its achievement to recognize the applicability of these elements to the performance of the institutions and then to analyze the factors that can limit the efficiency and effectiveness of their work to determine ways and means of avoiding them, and the possibility of improving and developing them to serve the latter in achieving their objectives. The analysis of the local economy of the of the state of Medea shows that the industrial institutions are witnessing a decline in their performance, especially the productivity, in which this latter have known a deterioration in productivity and a decrease in the quality of their products, that negatively affected their profits and negatively affected the factors of their survival and development. From this sense, these institutions found themselves driven by the need for intensive research on the methods and means to help them achieve certain rates of performance, especially, that it has to run the paradox between working at the lowest cost, and less time to achieve the best results, and that is because the work calls for certain efforts and a depletion of resources, while striving to reach the goals. In this context we find that quantitative methods can be the best way to achieve this and improve performance at all levels in the institution, where we have tried through our study to apply the ways to improve the economic performance of these institutions, using the methods of research operations. It has been shown that the use of operations research methods has effectively contributed to improving the performance of the institutions under the study and has given flexibility to decision makers by modifying the production plans according to strategic variables affecting these institutions, stressing that the results obtained using these methods were the best, at least by providing several alternatives compared to the plans applied by these institutions.
