الفكر النهضوي المشرقي في أدبيات الحركة الإصلاحية التونسية والمغربية خلال القرن 19 م ومطلع القرن 20 م

Abstract

Abstract : The Orient region witnessed an intellectual renaissance movement during the 19th and early 20th century aimed at pulling the Arab and Islamic worlds out of the weakness and decline they had fallen into, in order to keep up with the developments of that period. As a result, many intellectual trends and reformist visions emerged, between those who see the solution in retreating and sticking to the past, and those who see the solution in following the European model to achieve the desired renaissance. A more realistic and moderate trend emerged between these two currents, which is the reconciliatory current that sees the solution in a combination between the return to the past based on the correct Islamic sources, and the openness to various European civilization achievements and benefiting from them. Looking at the specificity of the Orient region, another current emerged that sees the adoption of the Arab nationalist trend as the most suitable solution for progress and catching up with the civilized world. 546 These trends were not limited to the Orient region only, but their effects extended to Tunisia and Morocco, where they were transmitted through many channels such as Hajj, travels, visits, journalism, and the transfer of the Oriental books to these regions. When they arrived in these regions, they influenced a group of Tunisian and Moroccan reformers, which was reflected in their literature and reform projects that they presented in their countries during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
