The current study aims to determine the effectiveness of speech therapy in improving social skills in children with moderate autism spectrum disorder. To achieve this objective, the study began with the following question: Does speech therapy play a role in the development of social skills in children with autism spectrum disorder? The study used a quasi-experimental approach with a single-group design. The sample consisted of 15 children with moderate autism spectrum disorder, aged 3½ to 5 years, who were intentionally selected. We applied a pre-test and post-test measurement of social skills using the Scott Bellini scale adapted by researcher Salah Eddine Saoulahi. We also used SPSS30 statistical software to analyze the data. The results of the study confirmed the general hypothesis that speech therapy was effective in developing social skills in children with autism spectrum disorder. Similarly, the specific hypotheses were also verified: 1. There are statistically significant differences in the level of social skills of the study sample between the pre-measurement and post-measurement in favor of the post-measurement in the axis of meaningful social exchange. 2. There are statistically significant differences in the level of social skills of the study sample between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement in the axis of seeking or avoiding social participation. 3. There are statistically significant differences in the level of social skills of the study sample between the pre- and post-measurements in favor of the post-measurement in terms of inappropriate social behaviors.
