Investigating the Impact of Single-Gender and Co-educational Classrooms on English Language Acquisition and Development in Secondary Schools T

Abstract

In the context of education, the classroom atmosphere is one of the most important components of student performance and learning. This research is designed to give significant insights that enhance the understanding of effective educational environments focusing on the particularities of single-gender and coeducational classrooms in secondary schools. This investigation intended to examine the experiences of a diverse group of secondary school students, considering different factors such as language development and language proficiency. To reach this aim, a comparative mixed-methods approach has been used. Quantitative data have been collected through spoken English language assessments and academic performance, while qualitative insights have been gathered through teachers' and students' questionnaires and classroom observations.
