The current study aimed to identify psychological trauma and its relationship to psychological resilience after amputation in adults. The sample consisted of 100 adults, including 58 males and 42 females, who were selected purposively.
To verify the study's hypotheses, we used the descriptive approach, relying on :
The Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale (PTSD) by Davidson, translated into Arabic by Abdel Aziz Thabet (2006), and the Psychological Resilience Scale (PRS) adapted from Hamouda et al.'s (2006) Impact of Parental Authorization on Algerian Youth.
The results, using SPSS, were as follows :
There is a statistically significant correlation between psychological trauma and psychological resilience after amputation in adults.
The level of psychological resilience after amputation in adults is high.
There is a statistically significant relationship between psychological trauma and post-amputation optimism in psychological resilience in adults.
There were statistically significant differences in resilience attributed to gender, in favor of females.
