Abstract

Summary: There is no doubt that the medical profession is one of the oldest professions known to mankind. Given its importance and the people's need for it at all times, its practitioners, doctors, command great respect and reverence for the services they provide to patients, which are characterized by a humane and ethical nature. Since this is a human endeavor, it is natural for patients to make mistakes, affecting their psychological and physical condition. Therefore, it is imperative for justice to intervene to regulate the contractual relationship between the two parties, the doctor and the patient, especially when such errors are committed. This can only be achieved by establishing legislative and legal texts that regulate this relationship, clarify the types of crimes committed in this field, and determine the appropriate punishment for them, without neglecting the rights of both parties. It is worth noting that the Code of Medical Ethics has been an important addition to enriching and addressing the issue of medical errors.
