Abstract
We discussed in our study the reality of the joint Arab action, and the
regional integration experiences in the Arab world, and we stood on the
fact that the achievements of this work have remained modest and limited
and did not constitute a qualitative leap embodies the organic link
between the Arab economies particularly the productive one.
As we dealt with the concept of food security and the dimensions of the
economic, political and social terms, as well as its association with some
of other concepts.
Our study also addressed the reality of Arab food security, as well as the
Arab food gap, and the reasons behind the constant aggravation. We
found that the food deficit in the Arab world has a significant correlation
with the separation condition experienced, and the lack of the strategic
integrated development planning at the national level, especially in the
agricultural field, while regional and international economic bloc has
become a tool to achieve economic and social development. The Arab
countries have not been able so far, despite their possession of the
elements of integration and economic unity, to get away from the Qatari
character control on the economic plans of development, which prevent
the Arab world from the full utilization of the available resources (
natural, human and financial), which led to the weakness of the
productive efficiency of these resources, and to increase the food gap, and
thus exacerbate the problem of food security in most Arab countries,
which raises the need to enhance Arab economic integration as a strategy
to achieve Arab food security.
