Civil society acts as a bridge between citizens and the state by promoting the principle of participatory democracy. This communication is manifested through various mechanisms, starting from electoral campaigns and their oversight to influencing legislation during law discussions where civil society representatives are invited for consultations on these laws. Civil society also has the right to monitor and question both parliament members and the government apparatus in parliamentary work. In Algeria, this communication is still in its early stages because the legal texts that structure this type of relationship are still limited and ambiguous. Keywords: representative democracy, participatory democracy, constitution, civil society, parliament Résumé : La communication entre la société civile et le parlement est devenue une caractéristique des systèmes démocratiques modernes.
