This study presents a thermodynamic analysis of a cogeneration cycle incorporating an absorption refrigeration machine, coupled with a parabolic trough solar energy system designed to supply superheated steam to turbines. A computational model was developed using MATLAB to simulate the operation of the proposed cycle. The cycle’s performance was evaluated through the calculation of exergy, overall cycle efficiency, and the coefficient of performance (COP) of the absorption refrigeration system. A comparative study was conducted using two working fluid pairs: NH₃ and LiBr–H₂O, to determine the most suitable pair under varying operational conditions. The results, obtained from a parametric study of the cycle's operating parameters, are analyzed and discussed to identify optimization strategies and enhance the energy performance of the integrated system.
