Abstract
This project aims to create an innovative hybrid cryptosystem by leveraging the strengths of both
symmetric and asymmetric encryption techniques. Our approach combines the speed of the Advanced
Encryption Standard (AES) in Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) mode for data encryption with the robust
security of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), specifically the NIST P-256 curve, for secure key exchange
using the Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) protocol . Our cryptosystem overcomes the limitations of
current cryptographic systems by offering both speed and security.
Comprehensive tests have been carried out to evaluate the performance of our hybrid system compared
to other cryptographic approaches. These tests measured the execution time of encryption and decryption
processes on different data sizes, as well as the time needed to generate keys. The results have
demonstrated the remarkable efficiency of our cryptosystem in terms of speed. In order to validate the
proposed system in terms of security, extensive tests have been carried out to assess its resilience to
various types of attacks
