Advanced supervisory and control technologies for industrial system

Abstract

In this project, we replaced an old fire and gas protection system for the MS5002C turbine at SONATRACH with a modern solution. We used a Siemens PLC S7-1500 and an HMI interface developed using TIA Portal and WinCC. The new system enables real-time monitoring, alarm history, and both manual and automatic control. We tested it using PLCSIM simulation to ensure reliability and performance before deployment. The goal is to improve safety, simplify operation, and ensure faster response to fire or gas incidents.
