Abstract
This is a numerical study by ANSYS WORKBRENCH software of water and water-Ag
nanofluid in rib shaped rectangular microchannel under constant heat flux. This study
shows the influence of rectangular, triangular, elliptical and trapezoidal ribs on laminar
heat transfer using Finite volume method and assuming that the height and width of the
ribs are fixed, to study Different rib forms. Model of laminar flow choosed is (Re=1,
10, 50, and 100) and nanofluid volume fraction Scores of 0%, 2% and 4%. The results
show that the increase in Reynolds number leads to friction coefficient increases In
contrast temperature and fluid velocity decreases. Among all the rib forms investigated.
the triangular rib shape have the best thermal performance evaluation also friction
coefficient shows that the trapezoidal rib is recommended to use a high Reynolds
number.
