Abstract

The policy of targeting inflation is newly style for the management of monetary policy in order to achieve stability in prices. According to this point of view it is a shift from targeting money supply depending upon exchange rate targeting to inflation targeting itself using the tools of and monetary policy. This policy has .been followed by many countries since the nineties This study try to analyse and evaluate the reality of the application of this policy in certain countries and stand on the possibility of its application in the Algeria economy, which face sharp rises in inflation rates reached a level of hyperinflation, and a rise in the volume of cash version and a significant deterioration in the exchange rate of the Algeria dinar. One of the main findings of this study is the lack of the conditions for the application of this policy in the Algeria economy prevented the application of it now, but this technique can be adopted in the management of monetary policy in the future after overcoming the difficulties facing the application of this policy
